You will hear a few different terms as you get closer to the end of your program. We know the difference between conferral, graduation and convocation can be confusing, and we're here to help clarify what they all mean.

Conferral

Your conferral date is when your credential is awarded. This will be reflected on your official transcripts. Review apply to graduate to find the conferral dates for the current academic year.

Graduation

This is the achievement of completing your program requirements. We will review your account to ensure you have successfully completed your program requirements if the following criteria have been met.

  • You have applied to graduate before the appropriate deadline.
  • Your instructors have entered your final grades at end of your final semester.

Convocation

This is the celebration of of your graduation. This is where you walk the stage, receive your parchment and we recognize your success. When you apply to graduate, we will ask if you plan to attend the upcoming convocation ceremony. Review convocation to learn more about the upcoming ceremonies.
